We were delighted to announce that our CT scanner has been opened on 16th October 2017, the Mayor or Wigan and Billy Boston MBE did the honours. It was a great success and it was all captured in Facebook live for all of our clients that were unable to attend it. Mius supplied the CT scanner and they really do make the process of obtaining a CT scanner more viable.
Northwest MRI was set up in 2010 to make MRI scanning more accessible for vets and pet owners in the Wigan area. In 2013 we made this service available nationwide and after huge success we have now added CT scanning to this service. Now we are called Northwest MRI & CT and believe that this service is very unique. “Accessible Advanced Imaging” is something that we have worked very hard to perfect to ensure that the process between pet owners and referring vets are seamless and the communication is paramount. Most pets can be seen within 24 hours of first contact and we can even pick them up in our dedicated MRI & CT ambulance to ensure a hassle free experience for vets and owners. The referring vet will receive the scan images 5 minutes after the scan has finished using our new PACS system Vethub. We also send off our scans to VetCT specialists so the referring vets will receive a full diagnostic report by European imaging specialists. Once we have returned the patient off we are always on hand for any help or queries regarding medication plans or treatment.

Together with MIUS we will be hosting a CPD evening on 13th December 2017 on advanced imaging focusing on CT in general practice. We will also be opening up our facilities for vets and nurses to come and have a look around.
