BSAVA’s Postgraduate Certificates continue to be recognised by VetCEE

VETCEE is a joint initiative of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS), Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and Union of European Veterinary Practitioners (UEVP) and is responsible for developing a high standard for structured continuing professional development and mutual recognition across Europe. VetCEE re-evaluates Postgraduate Certificates every five years. The two BSAVA Certificates were first approved in 2014 and will continue to be approved until 2024. The VetCEE evaluation panel highlighted that they were ‘very impressed with the programme and with the highly motivated leaders and the ample opportunity for direct interaction of teaching team with candidates. Evaluators were especially impressed as regards the implementation of good quality assurance’.

Lucie Goodwin, BSAVA Head of Education said: “We are delighted that our two most popular Postgraduate Certificates continue to be recognised by VetCEE. We have a number of non-UK based vets enrolled on the certificates and feel it is important to support them by ensuring that their qualification continues to be recognised throughout Europe, and not just within the UK. VetCEE’s stamp of approval adds further prestige to these high quality, structured and supportive qualifications.”

BSAVA’s Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, together with their Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Medicine of BSAVA (UK) can be found on the list of approved programmes on the VETCEE website.

BSAVA also offers Postgraduate Certificate programmes in Small Animal Ophthalmology and Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care, find out more here.

The BSAVA’s Postgraduate Certificates, accredited by Nottingham Trent University, are structured and supportive programmes of study for veterinary surgeons working in first opinion practice who want to pursue further qualifications. Each programme entails a combination of attendance at day courses and online study.
