Agreement opens up VetSkill OSCE’s to City and Guilds VN students

VetSkill and City & Guilds are pleased to announce that they have signed a veterinary nursing OSCE recognition agreement that has been approved by the RCVS.

VetSkill and City & Guilds are pleased to announce that they have signed a veterinary nursing OSCE recognition agreement that has been approved by the RCVS.

City & Guilds registered Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing students can now choose to take their OSCE’s with either City & Guilds or VetSkill to be awarded their City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification.

Veterinary Nurse Apprentices taking their End Point Assessment (EPA) OSCE with VetSkill, that are also studying the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification as part of their Apprenticeship, will only be required to take their VetSkill OSCE.

OSCE success will result in the completion of both the Apprenticeship and the award of the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Once qualified, students will be eligible to apply to the RCVS for Registered Veterinary Nurse status.

Greg Warman, Chairman of VetSkill said “This recognition agreement makes it possible for apprentices to take one OSCE that covers both their Diploma qualification and their apprenticeship.” He added “VetSkill has also some capacity available for City & Guilds Diploma non-apprentice learners awaiting an opportunity to take their OSCE’s in October and November 2020.”

VetSkill are proud to have been working with City & Guilds for nearly 20 years in developing and awarding qualifications, and see this recognition as a major step forward in assisting learners to complete their veterinary nursing training.

VetSkill’s aim is to empower learners and apprentices to recognise and achieve their potential through the provision of inspirational qualifications and assessment. VetSkill has a growing portfolio of opportunities and welcome enquiries from those who are interested in supporting their mission.

Based in Godmanchester, near Cambridge, VetSkill is an awarding organisation offering a range of qualifications regulated by Ofqual and CCEA to a variety of centres across the UK. It is approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education to provide End Point Assessment services for the Veterinary Nursing and Animal Welfare apprenticeship standards. It is also approved by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to operate a register for Suitably Qualified Person’s (SQP).
