MSD Animal Health (a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Kenilworth, N.J., USA), is inviting vet practices to join its free on-demand webinar to help them with the challenges of managing pet diabetes remotely. Available now online, this is a chance for vet practice teams to hear expert advice and insights from three popular speakers on the most common questions from the veterinary community.
The speakers include Grant Petrie, speaking on “Patients in Lockdown”: principles to manage diabetes remotely; Susan Little on “Low Stress Management of the Diabetic Cat”; and Ian Ramsey on “Top Ten Tips on Diabetes on a Budget”. Vet practices can join by registering online. In addition to the webinar MSD Animal Health will be providing further resources to support diabetes care and client education materials.
John Helps, Senior Veterinary Advisor at MSD Animal Health comments: “Pet diabetes continues to be of increasing importance in the UK. Research has shown that up to 20 percent of diabetic pets die, or are euthanised, within a year of diagnosis. No one wants to these figures rise further because of the recent challenges so the topics covered are all particularly relevant to veterinary practice teams at this time.”
Further support and resources are available for the veterinary profession on the MSD Animal Health Hub. Useful information and resources are available for owners of diabetic pets on the Caninsulin website, as part of MSD Animal Health’s “With You and Your Pet for Life“ campaign.
