CVS Group (“CVS” or the “Group”), one of the UK’s leading providers of integrated veterinary services, is excited to announce that it recently launched a new Continuous Professional Development (“CPD”) course for its nurses.
The 2021 Nursing Programme, which was launched in January, is a new course that provides colleagues with over 150 hours of vital foundation training and is open for all registered veterinary nurses across CVS’ practices. The programme offers a broad range of courses and is designed to aid nurses in their obligation to fulfill mandatory CPD requirements, while providing learning and development opportunities for colleagues to further their careers at CVS. [The cost of the course has been capped to ensure that the course is accessible to all nurses that wish to take part.]
Nurses enrolled in the programme have already embarked in online sessions covering lab skills and nurse consultation leadership training, which also includes additional insights on how to consult effectively under COVID-19 restrictions. A full breakdown of the topics due to be covered during 2021 can be found below.
Following the successful launch, the Group will introduce an intermediate course in 2022. In time, this will be followed by an advanced programme meaning that the CPD requirements of nurses, at any point in their career, can be fulfilled at CVS.
Lucy Turner, Chief Veterinary Nursing Officer at CVS Group, commented:
“At CVS, we place our people at the heart of we do and are always searching for ways in which we can be the veterinary company that people most want to work for. This foundational programme, which is available almost entirely online, is a way in which we can support, nurture and build on the extensive talent we have across our Group and we greatly look forward to hearing feedback from the nurses who take part in the programme’s first year.”
