Davies Veterinary Specialists (Davies) has been announced as the winner of the Natural Environment Champion award at this year’s Investors in the Environment (iiE) Awards.
Investors in the Environment is an environmental accreditation scheme designed to help organisations save money and reduce their impact on the environment. The Natural Environment Champion is one of seven iiE awards.
Davies’ win was announced during iiE’s Award week on 11 to 15 October 2021, in recognition of Davies’ commitment to a raft of local biodiversity projects including a wildlife camera trap, bee-friendly planting, the building of bug hotels, the installation of a barn owl box a DIY for wildlife project, wildlife and habitat surveys and a community litter pick.
The Hertfordshire-based small animal referral practice, which is a part of the Linnaeus Group achieved a first for the veterinary profession in 2020 by winning the Investors in the Environment (iiE) Sustainability Influencer Business of the Year. Davies’ green pioneer Ellie West was also recognised as Sustainability Influencer Individual of the Year 2020. Davies also holds Green level accreditation from Investors in iiE, which is the highest level awarded.
