IVC Evidensia launches a Research Fund to support innovation

The Research Fund is the first step in its ambitious plans to develop a stronger research framework within the group

IVC Evidensia is delighted to announce the launch of a Research Fund which is available to all of their staff. The initiative is led by the Group Veterinary Medical Board, where the fund will provide valuable financial support to their teams who have shown a growing appetite to challenge existing information and innovate within their fields.

The Research Fund is available to all vets and nurses, in all clinical sites including first opinion clinics, residents and referral teams across IVC Evidensia’s growing network of specialist-led referral centres.

Alistair Cliff, Chair of the IVC Evidensia Group Veterinary Medical Board, says:

“We recognise the critical importance of evidence-based veterinary medicine and the role that plays in ensuring our group continues to deliver exceptional veterinary care. The Research Fund is the first step in our ambitious plans to develop a stronger research framework within the group.”

Alongside the financial support provided by the Research Fund, IVC Evidensia is also launching a platform to support research collaboration. The network of Research Partners is an experienced team of specialists from around the group. They will provide an opportunity for those less experienced in the world of study design, ethical approval and statistics to work alongside experienced clinical researchers, ‘opening the door’ to nurses and vets who until now have found these to be obstacles.

Matt Matiasovic, DipECVS and surgeon at IVC Evidensia’s Dierenziekenhuis Hart van Brabant in the Netherlands says:

“As a Research Partner, I look forward to collaborating with colleagues from around the group so we are able to contribute to advancements in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery together. I hope that working with colleagues will enable me to strengthen my own research projects, while also providing vital insight to those with less experience who are looking explore their research potential.”

Matt joins Research Partners looking to collaborate on surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, emergency medicine and critical care.

The GVMB Research Fund is another example of IVC Evidensia’s commitment to professional development and career progression, joining its industry-leading Academy and extensive learning resources.
