Veterinary professionals are invited to attend a free online workshop on encouraging a culture of inclusivity, hosted by veterinary communications provider PetsApp.
The free webinar – in honour of Pride month – welcomes celebrated activist Rhammel Afflick. Formerly Head of Communications at Pride in London, he is an outspoken award-winning campaigner and writer.
For the last 16 years, Rhammel has actively lobbied for change on a number of issues including racism and LGBT+ rights in the UK. In January 2021, he was recognised with a Queen’s Honour for his services to communities in London. He currently works full-time in the third sector and works freelance on campaigns and diversity and inclusion with some of the biggest brands in Europe.
The webinar looks to educate leaders on how to create the right environment for change that leads to a more inclusive workplace. Veterinary professionals will also have an opportunity to get to grips with the academic framework of intersectionality and how it applies to a clinic systemically. Finally, attendees will learn the importance of workplace solidarity and proactively working to address organisational needs and individual needs.
“We’re proud to support all of the world’s veterinary professionals and proud of those who contribute to a workplace environment that fosters diversity,” says PetsApp Co-Founder and CEO, Thom Jenkins. “We’re really excited to be hosting this webinar that stimulates a positive change and increased diversity in the veterinary community.”
The event is held on Thursday 17 June at 7.45pm BST | 1.45pm CT, and attendees can register for free.
