The Kennel Club regretfully announces cancellation of Health and Welfare Conference

The Kennel Club announces that their Health and Welfare conference on the 25 and 26 September has been postponed until 2022

The Kennel Club has today, on 3 September, announced that its planned Health and Welfare Conference, due to take place between 25 and 26 September in Kenilworth, will sadly not take place this year. Despite best efforts to deliver the two-day event, ongoing challenges unfortunately have resulted in the difficult decision to reschedule the conference.

Bill Lambert, Health, Welfare and Breeder Services Executive at The Kennel Club commented: “It’s with sincere regret, and only after much effort and deliberation, that we are having to postpone this year’s Health and Welfare conference. We would like to thank all those delegates, speakers and event organisers for their commitment to improving dog health and welfare, and we would like to reassure that this important conference will be rescheduled for 2022. Details will follow shortly.

“The decision to postpone the event is based on a combination of factors – including the unfortunate clash with the rescheduled National Dog Show in Birmingham and remaining challenges related to the pandemic.

“We’re now planning an extensive programme with excellent high-profile speakers for the rescheduled event and continue to work hard to improve dog health and welfare ahead of the conference in 2022. I can confirm that the two multi-breed health testing clinics events at The Kennel Club building in Stoneleigh, arranged for 6 September and 15 November and offering a range of scheme assessments, will still be going ahead, and we will shortly be launching five new CombiBreed DNA testing packages; our commitment to canine health and welfare remains undiminished.”
