The event, created with a focus on veterinary well-being and environmental sustainability, combines cutting edge learning with time to relax and have fun with colleagues, friends and family.
The VET Festival’s 2022 continuing professional development (CPD) programme includes 17 education streams, covering the veterinary and nursing care of companion animals, together with a stream covering veterinary wellness, leadership and management-related topics. Speakers include veterinary experts and leaders from around the world, with the expected 2,000+ delegates collecting 14 hours of CPD over the two days.
To ensure delegates receive food for their souls as well as their minds, VET Festival offers a Wellness Hub in which well-being activities, including yoga, movement and mindfulness sessions, will run alongside lectures and offer delegates practical support in improving their day-to-day well-being. All delegates have free admission to the ever-popular VETFest™ Live Party Night, which will, doubtless, once again, prove a highlight of the event.
VET Festival 2022 will be supported by long-term partner international animal health products company MWI Animal Health. A diverse exhibitor village, supported by more than 60 leading veterinary suppliers, offering some of the most innovative veterinary products and business services available, will surround the lecture venues.
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, clinical chair at Fitzpatrick Referrals, who launched VET Festival in 2015, commented: “The last 18 months have been tough for everyone but particularly difficult for veterinary professionals, many of whom were already suffering with challenges to their well-being and mental health because of the pressures of their work. VET Festival is an oasis of time during which they can relax and rejuvenate themselves; experiencing continuing professional development that is uplifting and inclusive and enjoying social activities and companionship that will replenish their souls.”
Nicole Cooper, VET Festival Event Director, added: “In the light of the pandemic, VET Festival seems ahead of its time, combining CPD and relaxation in an outdoor ‘festival’ setting. We are absolutely delighted to be coming back in 2022 and are more determined than ever to offer our delegates an unforgettable two days, during which they can spend precious time with colleagues and friends, learning; having fun and soaking up the beautiful surroundings. We can’t wait to welcome them back to Loseley Park in May.”
“With time constantly in short supply, it can be difficult for veterinary professionals to juggle fitting in CPD hours, with prioritising their well-being and maintaining a work-life balance,” said Alan White, customer and commercial relations director at MWI Animal Health. “We’re delighted that VET Festival is returning and look forward to renewing our close partnership in 2022, as we pursue our shared commitment to support veterinary teams, practices and the industry as a whole.”
