Veterinary Women in Leadership, a collaboration between Veterinary Woman and XLVets, are co-hosting a Christmas leadership event on 8 December 2021, between 7pm and 9pm.
Over two hours on Zoom, the virtual event will feature an exclusive, interactive workshop by renowned leadership coach Jo Woods as she discusses effective delegation, time management and goal setting for 2022. The event will also include some festive fun and all attendees will receive a Christmas-themed delegate pack and a copy of the popular book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey.
Commenting on the event, XLVets Chief Operations Officer, Kerrie Hedley said: “We were really keen to host an event that had a strong leadership focus but in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Jo Woods is an incredibly supportive and astute leadership coach. She isn’t afraid to talk from personal experience and her approach is both inspiring and insightful. We are delighted that she will lend her expertise to the Veterinary Women in Leadership Christmas event.”

Veterinary Women in Leadership has proved hugely popular with the veterinary community and the Christmas leadership event follows on from the success of previous events led by Veterinary Woman and XLVets, such as the recent “Mentoring Matters” CPD programme in September, the “Dare to Lead” event in April, and the inaugural Veterinary Women in Leadership event in September 2020.
“Although the profession is predominantly female, gender discrimination still exists and women may find themselves held back by lack of access to equal opportunity as well as the implicit bias that leadership isn’t for them,” said Claire.
“This is why these events are so important,” commented Kerrie. “By openly discussing our career journeys and making practical steps to overcome challenges, we can have a positive effect on the future of both the individual and the profession as a whole.”
Tickets for the Veterinary Women in Leadership Christmas Event are priced at £25 each (£20 for students) with an early bird offer of £20 (£15 for students) for tickets booked before 26 November 2021.
