Advanced theatre nursing, skin grafts, stabilisation of the emergency patient and more at BSAVA Alba 2022

The programme for this year’s BSAVA Alba 2022 congress has been released, including sessions on advanced theatre nursing, skin grafts, stabilisation of the emergency patient and more

British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) Alba 2022 is fast approaching, taking place on 16 and 17 September at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel in Polmont, Falkirk.

This year’s event promises delegates up to 10 hours of CPD, covering a vast range of topics catered for vets, vet nurses and vet students.

Session highlights for Friday 16 September include:

  • Stabilisation of the emergency patient with Serena Bassolino
  • Supporting your student veterinary nurse with Jenna Marshall
  • Clinical reasoning in charity medicine and surgery with Maureen Carnan

Session highlights for Saturday 17 September of BSAVA Alba 2022 include:

  • Patient Bereavement: having difficult conversations with Fiona McDowall
  • Advanced theatre nursing with Emma Boyce
  • Skin flaps and grafts with Jon Hall

BSAVA Alba 2022 delegates will also be able to get some hands-on experience with five practicals on offer. These sessions are open to all but may be catered more towards vet nurses, or those who are new to the veterinary profession.

Topics covered include suturing, sampling techniques and knot securing. Places on these practicals are an additional £10 +VAT.

For BSAVA members, tickets for the whole weekend cost £240 +VAT for vets, £165 +VAT for vet nurses, and £65 +VAT for students. Day tickets and non-member tickets are also available to purchase.

Buy your tickets on the BSAVA website.
