Charter Vets in Congleton Road, Biddulph, has undergone a major renovation that has improved the facilities for pets and their owners and made a trip to the vets a more comfortable experience.
The Charter Vets practice now boasts a refurbished reception and waiting area, a larger operating theatre, a more spacious cattery with luxury kennels for feline inpatients and one consulting room has been extended. Air conditioning has been installed throughout the building to improve the air quality.
The £350,000 project has been funded by VetPartners, the larger veterinary group Charter Vets is part of.
Head Veterinarian Marcus Johnstone said the changes are enabling the practice to deliver the best possible service to clients and their pets, and they have created an improved working environment for the veterinary team.
Marcus said: “We are delighted with the practice’s new look and have had lots of positive feedback from clients. They love the lighter, more comfortable reception and waiting area, which has been transformed with new furniture and glazing and a wall mural showing local countryside makes the room feel friendly and welcoming.
“We have also changed the layout of the building, to make better use of the space and create a nicer working environment for our hardworking veterinary team.
“This involved moving our cattery upstairs, allowing us to dedicate a larger area to our feline in-patients, and we have installed new cat kennels that are roomier and more comfortable. Canine patients benefit, too, as we’ve upgraded the dog kennels and improved the layout.
“We have also moved our in-house laboratory upstairs, freeing us up to extend our nurse consult room and operating theatre on the ground floor. The flow of the workspace is much better and the team is enjoying having more space where it’s needed. It has transformed what we are able to do at Charter Vets.”
