With the aim of improving confidence and overall standards in veterinary anaesthesia and supporting its extensive anaesthesia and analgesia portfolio, the Jurox Anaesthesia Academy provides high-quality CPD for the whole veterinary team to support the use of Alfaxan Multidose as a primary form of anaesthetic induction.
The Anaesthesia Academy provides all the educational materials needed to support a journey of learning and consists of three main sections:
- The Alfaxan journey – a step-by-step guide to learning to become confident in the use of Alfaxan as a first line induction agent
- Alfaxan in special populations – short bitesize modules exploring common uses for that vial of Alfaxan sitting on the practice shelf
- Leading anaesthesia CPD – exclusive content for clinics using Alfaxan as their first line induction agent, allowing vets and nurses to develop their understanding of the whole anaesthetic journey with some industry leading CPD in supporting areas
Also available on the portal are materials to support the use of Alfaxan in rabbits and links to all essential resources.
The online content is presented by Dr Dan Cripwell, BSc (Hons), BVSc, CertAVP (EM), Cert AVP, PgCert (VPS), MRCVS, advanced veterinary practitioner and senior veterinary technical advisor at Jurox, Dr Carina Northern, BVSc, MRCVS, technical vet advisor at Jurox, and Sarah Ofonagoro, key account manager UK and Europe at Jurox.
The sessions in the Alfaxan journey section of the Anaesthesia Academy include: a clinical overview and review of clinical considerations for the anaesthetic process, understanding pre-anaesthetic medication, achieving the best results and tips and tricks when using Alfaxan, the general principles of anaesthetic recovery and how to optimise this process for best patient outcomes.
There is a minimum of five hours of CPD available on the Jurox Anaesthesia Academy, but the platform will be regularly updated to host additional content. Online delegates will be able to download a CPD certificate once each module has been completed.
