StreetVet founder, Sam Joseph, lands top role

Linnaeus-owned Village Vet, one of the UK’s leading veterinary groups, has appointed Sam Joseph as their new clinical director to oversee the delivery of its exceptional care and expert treatment

Village Vet, which is owned by Linnaeus, has promoted Dr Sam Joseph to the senior role at its Hampstead hospital in Belsize Lane, London, which is part of a group of practices across the capital, and in Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Dr Joseph, who has been at Village Vet since 2015, is also well known throughout the veterinary industry as the founder of StreetVet, a multi award-winning charity delivering free essential care to the pets of homeless people.

He said: “Village Vet Hampstead is a unique place with a fascinating case load and a wonderful team which always goes the extra mile to care for our patients. This is something I am proud to be part of and will do my utmost to protect, as my responsibilities now include managing our fantastic team and overseeing the clinical activities of the hospital to ensure we continue to provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge, especially helping the less experienced vets grow and develop. I’m also very excited about working as part of the incredible Village Vet Hampstead management team. My main ambition is to continue to cultivate an environment that supports and nurtures our team members so our vets and nurses always feel happy and valued.”

Dr Joseph is also determined to create even closer links with the 29 other practices within the Village Vet group.

He added: “Having spent three years at Village Vet’s Highgate practice and worked shifts at most other Village Vet branches, I am well aware of the challenges they face. I want to make sure these practice teams always feel supported by Village Vet Hampstead and ensure we are all working together to get best results for our patients.”

Dr Joseph graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 2015 and spent a year as an intern at Linnaeus-owned referral centre London Vet Specialists and the Hampstead hospital. He then moved to the Village Vet Highgate where he spent three years developing a solid first opinion foundation before moving back to the Hampstead hospital in early 2020.

He’s currently working towards a post-graduate certificate in cardiology, also has an interest in dentistry and internal medicine and remains dedicated to his StreetVet charity.

Village Vet has 30 practices across London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. For more information, visit their website, and for more information on StreetVet, visit the website.
