Partner practices, encompassing daytime veterinary practices who outsource their out-of-hours service to Vets Now, will be offered engaging marketing materials to help raise owners’ awareness of common autumn hazards for pets.
The materials include eye-catching posters for waiting rooms and shareable infographics which can be used on practice websites and social platforms.
The Autumn hazard awareness campaign, tagged “Don’t lose your sparkle” tackles a range of common autumn hazards which emergency vets see an influx of during the autumn months including fireworks, antifreeze, mushrooms and toadstools, bonfires and burns and road traffic accidents (RTAs) which rise with darker seasons.
Vets Now marketing director, Rike Jones, said: “Vets Now invests heavily in its marketing in warning pet owners about commonly-occurring pet hazards – like chocolate ingestion at Christmas and Easter and heatstroke in the summer – to try and keep pets and their owners out of the emergency room.
“As well as supporting our 1,500 plus partner practices with vital resources like we’ve created for our Autumn campaign, we have a pet care advice hub for owners which includes a comprehensive database of vet-authored articles.”
More than 500,000 people a month already access Vets Now’s huge bank of free veterinary advice online.
Jones continued: “While our emergency teams are always here to give pets the best possible care in the event of an emergency, our goal is prevention. Empowering owners to shield their pets from harm is paramount.
“It’s also essential that pet owners know what to do when faced with a pet emergency, especially when it’s out of hours and your vet is closed.”
