Companion animal solution for skincare released by Zarasyl

Zarasyl have released a silica-based regenerative companion animal solution for skincare, with wound healing modality

Following the success of their equine product, Zarasyl has released a much anticipated new Companion Animal Solution for skincare.

The barrier cream formula is powered by an exclusive patented technology composed of amorphous silica, inspired by over 10 years of research and innovation.

Developed in conjunction with a team of scientists, Zarasyl is bringing human science and regenerative technology to the companion animal industry.

Zarasyl Companion Animal Solution’s unique formula contains amorphous silica with a molecular structure tailored to provide sustained delivery of orthosilicic acid – the bioavailable form of silica associated with healthy connective tissue growth – to the skin.

Zarasyl’s CEO Adrienne Magnier, states: “After seeing how our patented formula successfully improved the lives of equines across the globe, we knew we had to reach more animals in need. “In 2022, we were able to see the fruition of those efforts. We’re delighted to bring our regenerative technology to the companion animal market.”

Zarasyl Companion Animal Solution has been formulated to address the key requirements for an ideal wound healing modality. It can be used as a barrier on wounds, abrasions and a variety of dermatologic issues.

Veterinarians and owners can also use the cream as a barrier in the management of secondary wounds, surgical incisions and dermatitis.

Referring to Zarasyl Companion Animal Solution in a use case, Jon Todd, DVM, owner Logan County Animal Clinic, Russellville, stated: “We had a case presented with a 10cm mass which we removed through an elliptical incision.

“Because of the size and infection involved, we chose to allow the area to heal by second intention.

“We used Zarasyl Companion as a barrier until the time it could be closed surgically. The wound closed entirely within three weeks with minimal scarring.”
