CVS opens part of its Knowledge Hub learning platform to the profession

CVS Group is making part of its learning, education and development platform available to the rest of the industry for the first time

CVS Group has invested for the last four years in a Knowledge Hub, so colleagues have access to the industry’s best learning platform with a catalogue of over 450 courses, programmes and webinars.

Up to now these have only been available to all CVS colleague, including vets, veterinary nurses, patient care assistants and receptionists, for their continued professional development (CPD).

The new Knowledge Hub shop will have a selection of over 50 of CVS’ tailored courses externally to the veterinary profession.

More training courses will be made available, as programmes are developed and created.

CVS has an in-house team of 35 people, including vets and veterinary nurses, who develop its educational content.

CVS’ Knowledge Hub training portfolio is designed for all job roles in the veterinary profession.

It includes clinical courses for vets and veterinary nurses across all species, including small animal, equine, farm and exotics.

It also includes programmes to support patient care assistants and front-of-house staff, covering topics such as customer care, dispensing medication and infection control.

Courses in leadership and management, along with coaching and mentoring, are also available to help support and develop leaders and mentors across the industry.

The format of Knowledge Hub courses ranges from hour-long “bite-sized” learning to level 7 accredited certificates in leadership and management.

There are online programmes, designed for learners to complete in their own time at their own pace, to highly practical in-person training courses, held at CVS’ purpose-built clinical training centres.

All courses are as interactive as possible with high quality assessment built in to encourage reflective learning and progression of skills and knowledge and to move away from the notion of meeting minimum CPD requirements as a “tick-box” exercise.

Martin Whiting, director of learning, education and development at CVS Group, said; “CVS invests heavily in learning to help support and encourage the development of our colleagues.

“Since Knowledge Hub’s launch in 2017, we have built an enormous library of high quality content.

“We are making some of this available to the wider veterinary profession, so that individuals can benefit from the wide variety, breadth and depth of CPD we have available.”

CVS’ Knowledge Hub shop will launch to the veterinary profession on 22 March 2023.

Courses can be accessed via visiting the Knowledge Hub and browsing the range of training available. Each piece of learning is individually and competitively priced.

To make a purchase, users will need to register and sign in before they can access the checkout.
