VMG Congress 2024, a two-day feast of collaborative learning and experience sharing for existing veterinary leaders, managers and those aspiring to lead, will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Stratford on Avon, on 25 to 26 April 2024.
The Congress programme is headed by keynote speaker, Dr Andy Cope. A specialist in positive psychology, he has been described as a doctor of happiness and a well-being revolutionary.
During his address, he will remind delegates that there has never been a more important time to focus on their mental health and well-being.
He will also encourage them to focus on what’s right about people rather than what’s wrong – and to start to take charge of their own mental health. He will be running a workshop for delegates following his keynote speech.
The programme will once again offer innovative and highly practical content in six streams: our purpose, our clients, our selves, our people, our workplaces and our future.
Speakers drawn both from the veterinary sector and outside it will share the latest thinking in all aspects of leadership, practice team and self-management.
As challenging times continue for all those working in the profession, sessions with a more personal dimension, including those giving advice on effective personal finance management are also on offer.
Popular features from the VMG’s successful 2023 Congress, including the early kickstart sessions and the morning walkshop along the banks of the River Avon, are set to return for 2024.
Commenting, VMG director Liz Somerville said: “Building on the success of our 2023 Congress, VMG is committed to giving our delegates access to vibrant and innovative speakers, who offer relevant content to support them in their goals as leaders, managers and business owners.
“Our sessions will offer a combination of practical steps that delegates can take back to their practices to support the work they do, as well as give them the opportunity to think about the bigger picture topics that we don’t always get time to focus on.
“Providing support for our current and future leaders and managers is a priority for us as we develop the programme.”
The VMG is the professional association for all those in leadership and management roles in the veterinary sector. It empowers and equips veterinary leaders and their organisations to learn, share, and grow.
