VetCT, a global teleradiology, teleconsulting and education provider, is hosting its annual series of free winter webinars focused on equine radiology and its clinical applications.
The most popular topics for the webinars were selected from votes cast by VetCT’s equine social media and newsletter followers.
The webinars will all be delivered by board-certified equine diagnostic imaging specialists and will include the opportunity for live Q&A.
The first will cover equine cervical spinal radiographic interpretation presented by Erin Porter, DVM, DACVR, DACVR-EDI. Learning objectives include:
- Achieving high-quality diagnostic radiographs of the equine cervical spine including lateral and oblique projections
- Appropriate radiographic measuring and understanding the utility and limitations of the measurements
- Increasing understanding of common disease processes resulting in radiographic abnormalities and how to recognise them
This first VetCT webinar will take place 11 December 2023 at 6.30 to 7.30pm.

The second webinar will be on 7 February 2024, 1pm to 2pm, with a focus on soft tissue injuries in the foot and whether clues can be found on plain radiographs.
This session will review radiographic abnormalities within the foot that may be indicative of soft tissue pathology and should be considered for more advanced three-dimensional diagnostic imaging such as MRI.
In this talk by Marianna Biggi, DVM, PhD, FHEA, DipECVDI, MRCVS, attendees will review a systemic approach to interpreting foot radiographs and the clinical significance of radiographic diagnoses.
The final VetCT webinar concerns comparative imaging of the equine fetlock and will include a review of strengths and weaknesses of various fetlock imaging techniques.
In her presentation, Lucy Meehan-Howard, BVSc, MSc, CertAVP(VDI), DipECVDI, MRCVS, will also cover typical injuries to this joint in different kinds of horses and the optimal imaging strategy for each type of injury.
This webinar will be held on 26 February 2024, 1pm to 2pm.
