What can a vet practice do to minimise burnout for the team?

Tuesday 18 April, online at 7:30pm with Cara de Lange from Softer Success

Burnout is creating a crisis for veterinary practices.

Increased demands and external uncertainty are resulting in low productivity, and while our understanding of burnout has changed, the latest research from Softer Success and Sheffield University reveals a greater risk.

This interactive informal science backed CPD session will show you how to maintain sustainable performance during busy times.

It will also provide practical tips to avoid burnout for you and your practice and will be interwoven with energisers and micro-wellness.

Key takeaways from the 60-minute session:

  • The science: Softer Success’ newest and ground-breaking research on burnout and business well-being
  • How to rewire your brain to deal with uncertainty
  • How to incorporate well-being as a business goal in your vet practice

How to manage a difficult member of staff out of practice

Wednesday 24 May, online 7:30pm with Gillian McAteer from Citation

Although we hope you never need to, if you find yourself in a position where you need to dismiss an employee, you need to approach it the right way.

If you don’t follow the right procedures, it opens you up to unfair dismissal claims and costly employment tribunal cases.

Citation’s director of employment law, Gillian McAteer, will deliver a CPD session on how to approach the dismissal process fairly and legally so you can protect your business.

Learning outcomes from the session:

  • How to decide on the right process – are you dealing with people who “can’t” or “won’t” do what you need them to do
  • The essential steps which need to be followed
  • Common mistakes that can have costly consequences
  • Taking a short-cut – understanding the considerations and risks of negotiated exits
