BVNA Congress 2024 – final chance to register at discounted early bird rate

Sign up before Wednesday 31st July 2024 to save up to £175

The British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) Congress is an annual three-day event dedicated to the veterinary nursing profession, taking place this year between Friday 11th – Sunday 13th October 2024 at Telford International Centre.

Don’t miss the opportunity to register at the early bird rate – visit the BVNA website and sign up before Wednesday 31st July 2024 to save up to £175!

This year’s theme of “Progression” will inspire reflections on how far the profession has come and enable blue-sky conversations about its future.

Progression

This headline stream takes place each morning – with the aim of inspiring veterinary nurses to recognise their own value, along with opportunities for career development in the future.

Arm yourself with the knowledge and confidence to make positive progress – whether in the context of your own career, amongst your team, or within veterinary businesses and wider industry.

Each morning encompasses a different area of “Progression”:

  • Making veterinary nursing a sustainable and progressive career
  • Leadership
  • Finance and business

Over twenty streams dedicated to RVNs and SVNs – with a brand new VCA stream, too

The diverse programme at BVNA Congress highlights the significant impact veterinary nurses have on all areas of professional practice. We’re providing powerful learning opportunities to boost your knowledge and confidence in:

  • Emergency and critical care
  • Anaesthesia and analgesia
  • Primary care and first-opinion nursing
  • Referral nursing
  • One Health
  • Feline nursing
  • Behaviour
  • Exotics, zoo and wildlife
  • Nutrition
  • QI & Audit
  • VN Education

– and more!

What’s more, a huge strength of BVNA Congress is inclusivity. Whether you’re an RVN looking to learn new skills or follow a career path in a new direction, an SVN seeking inspiration for what your future as an RVN holds – or perhaps you’re a VCA or a veterinary receptionist – you’re welcome at all of our sessions. Why not consider putting yourself outside your comfort zone and see what you might learn?

In conversation

We’ll be providing an afternoon of discussion panel format sessions, during which you can hear directly from leaders within the veterinary profession about the most pressing current welfare and legislative issues. This collaborative stream will also allow you to interact directly with the panel.

Practical learning

One of the most popular features of BVNA Congress is the selection of varied hands-on workshops. Make sure you remember to add your workshop booking when you register.

This year’s workshops include:

  • Wound management
  • Practical tools to support yourself and your colleagues with neurodiversity
  • Massage and passive range of motion skills
  • CPR
  • Haematology and biochemistry

You can also visit our practical zone in the Exhibition Hall for free-of-charge, hands-on skills teaching. No booking is required; simply visit the BVNA Veterinary Hospital during exhibition opening hours!

Plus, join Burtons for their dedicated clinical teaching and product demonstration zones on Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October 12th.

An opportunity to network and socialise

BVNA Congress provides a relaxed environment for learning and opportunities to unwind! The large exhibition makes it easy to network with exhibitors and meet friends and colleagues while enjoying a break between lectures, all in one space. The exhibition’s “Makers Market” will also make a triumphant return, making the event accessible for those with small businesses and side hustles.

The ever-popular social events include Musical Bingo and a “Blue Light Party” – an emergency services-themed gala dinner and awards ceremony. Fancy dress is optional but very much encouraged!
