The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) is proud to announce the expansion of its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives in partnership with nationally-recognised leader in DEIB, blendVET. As part of its commitment to a more inclusive veterinary profession, the NAVC will offer five Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) programmes for free to VetFolio subscribers, with the option for non-subscribers to purchase the courses.
The blendVET certificate programme, which launches this week, will help veterinary professionals create more inclusive and supportive environments, enhancing communication, leadership and overall well-being within the workplace.
“NAVC is deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within the veterinary community,” said Gene O’Neill, CEO of NAVC. “By expanding our partnership with blendVET and offering these additional educational resources to our VetFolio subscribers, we are taking another meaningful step towards creating a more all-encompassing and supportive profession.”
Courses of the blendVET certificate programme include:
- Communicating Across Cultures – Learn how to recognize cultural differences and navigate communication in diverse settings.
- Purposeful Leadership – Gain the tools to foster inclusive environments where feelings of belonging and empowerment are the results.
- Unconscious Bias – Understand how to address unconscious bias and learn actionable steps to build a more equitable workplace environment.
- Transgender in Vet Med– Explore the experiences of the transgender community and become an effective ally in advancing a supportive workspace.
- Psychological Health and Safety – Discover essential psychosocial factors to improve well-being and promote respect and equity among veterinary professionals.

All five courses are now available for free to VetFolio subscribers. VetFolio is one of the most well-respected online veterinary continuing education (CE) platforms. It offers a range of resources, including surgery videos, podcasts, and over 500 courses designed for earning CE credits. Non-subscribers can purchase individual courses through VetFolio’s website.
NAVC first partnered with blendVET in January 2023, debuting its DEIB initiative, “A Day of Service: Believe and Belong in Veterinary Medicine” event at VMX 2023. Since then, both organisations have been working closely to create programs that inspire future veterinary professionals and promote DEIB in the veterinary industry.
