Omnicardio Plus relaunched with enhanced formula for cardiac support

Vita Animal Health has announced the release of an upgraded Omnicardio Plus, featuring a new, improved formulation

Vita Animal Health has announced the release of an upgraded Omnicardio Plus, featuring a new, improved formulation. The enhanced Omnicardio Plus includes astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that outperforms the previously used coenzyme Q10 in supporting cardiac health. Omnicardio Plus can be used to support cardiac health at all stages of a dog or cat’s life.

Omnicardio Plus’s new formula, which also contains Crataegus, L-Carnitine and Magnesium Taurate, is designed to be safely used alongside all heart medications, making it an invaluable supplement for supporting cardiac health. It is particularly beneficial for breeds predisposed to cardiac disease and can be used preventively before a heart murmur develops or once a murmur has been heard but medication is not required. It can also be an effective adjunct to treatment in more advanced cases whereby medical treatment has been initiated.

Tara Evans, vet nurse and sales manager at Vita Animal Health, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to offer Omnicardio Plus to our clients once more. Managing cardiac disease can be daunting for pet owners, which is why we have committed to developing an effective product to support pets with this condition. We deeply appreciate our customers’ patience as we worked tirelessly to bring Omnicardio Plus back to market.”

A previous survey carried out by Vita Animal Health highlighted that 65 percent of surveyed dog owners had owned a dog with a heart murmur. The survey also revealed that 78 percent of dog owners believed heart disease in dogs to be common, but 61 percent were either unsure of or don’t know the signs of heart disease. While over 90 percent correctly identified breathlessness and slowing down on walks as common signs for heart disease, the respondents were unsure of further indicators.

Tara continues: “We are passionate about educating pet owners to help them feel empowered when managing their pet’s health. We know we still have lots of work to do in educating our pet owners around heart disease. We have created an infographic for veterinary teams to share with their clients, and for our customers to access.”

Omnicardio Plus is now available for purchase on the Vita Animal Health website.

To assist pet owners in recognizing heart disease early, Vita Animal Health has also created an informative infographic highlighting the common signs of heart disease in dogs. This resource is available online.
