Virbac adds Pyoderm to their new and improved eco-friendly shampoo range

A new antibacterial and antifungal dermatological shampoo

Virbac is pleased to announce the addition of Pyoderm to their expert skincare and hygiene range. Containing 3 percent m/v chlorhexidine, Pyoderm is a new antibacterial and antifungal dermatological shampoo for dogs and cats to support the natural microbial balance of the skin while delivering gentle yet effective cleansing.

Pyoderm joins Virbac’s extensive range of dermatological and everyday care shampoos designed to clean, care, comfort and protect, regardless of the pet’s skin or coat type:

  • Allerderm shampoo for dry & scaly skin (formerly known as Sebocalm)
  • Allerderm shampoo for sensitive skin (formerly known as Episoothe)
  • Allermyl shampoo for sensitive & itchy skin
  • Sebolytic shampoo for greasy, scaly & smelly Skin

The new and improved shampoo range is now presented in larger 250ml eco-friendly bottles made from 100 percent recycled plastic and entirely recyclable packaging. The shampoos themselves also offer the benefit of biodegradable formulas.

The easy-to-use and enhanced packaging aims to make bath times easier for pet owners, thanks to a practical and ergonomic bottom-opening bottle which can be operated with a single hand and features a controlled release valve for easy dispensing.

“The Virbac skin care and hygiene range has been trusted by vets worldwide for more than 35 years and we are delighted to add Pyoderm to the range,” said Chris Newark, product manager at Virbac. “The new and improved range offers the same advanced and trusted formulas, including our Skin Innovative Science (S-I-S) technology, while at the same time making them easier to use and kinder to the planet.”

S-I-S technology is a combination of two technologie to help maintain healthy skin flora and improve skin vitality; Glycotechnology offers a combination of saccharides, known to decrease the attachment of some unwanted microorganisms to the skin. Defensin technology comes from two natural plant extracts (Boldo and Meadowsweet) that stimulate the natural skin barrier defence against unwanted microorganisms.
