World Horse Welfare webinar: discussing Paralympic dressage from the horse’s perspective

The free to attend event is part of a series of truly unique online evenings in which leading experts discuss hot topics around equine welfare

Bronze medal winning Paralympic dressage rider Natasha Baker and BEF Para Dressage performance manager, Georgina Sharples will be sharing how they take care of their equine athletes in the first of the World Horse Welfare’s winter webinars this month.

Chaired by the charity’s Chief Executive Roly Owers, the free to attend event is part of a series of truly unique online evenings in which leading experts discuss hot topics around equine welfare, followed with a question-and-answer session.

Roly says: “With the welfare of dressage and sport horses very much in the spotlight, we will talk about how the paralympic team manage their equine athletes, with an emphasis on what a good life for them should look like.

“We think our first session is likely to be extremely popular and we hope it sets the scene for our future webinars.

“We are of course, delighted to be joined by decorated Paralympian, Natasha Baker and BEF Para Dressage Performance Manager, Georgina Sharples who will be discussing their experiences of this summer’s games in Paris. Together we will be reflecting on the team’s success, but critically looking at the event from the horse’s perspective – from preparing them to perform on the world stage to their management during the games.

“We are all set for a great evening, and we hope many of you can join us to kick off this year’s webinar series.”

Roly will lead the structured discussion which will be followed by questions from the audience.

Taking place on Wednesday, October 23 at 7pm. People can either register and watch live over Zoom or watch the recorded version later via the website.

Registering for the webinar through Zoom, enables the audience to take part in the various polls, ask questions during the Q&A and enjoy an interactive experience.
