IMPROVE International, which is
celebrating 12 years in business, is
launching a bursary award scheme in
association with Veterinary Practice.
The scheme is aimed at helping
veterinary surgeons who wish to attend
the Improve International series of
species and discipline modular
programmes and gain a valuable
postgraduate certificate qualification.
The company will grant up to 26
bursary places to those who successfully
complete the application process; in
return the successful applicants will be
entitled to attend the species and
discipline modular programme of their
choice at a vastly reduced price that will
include the cost of sitting the
appropriate European School of
Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS) examination. Attendance will
be at either the Wiltshire or Cheshire
learning centres as appropriate.
The scheme is simplicity itself, says
Nick Fowler, general manager of
Improve International.
Twelve programmes
Successful applicants will be able to
select from 12 structured programmes,
pick the subject of their choice, enjoy
two days a month of classroom-led
instruction over a nine- month period,
sit the appropriate ESVPS examination
upon conclusion, and only be asked to
assist in the development of “best
practice” and the collation of delegate
feedback in return.
Full details of obligations under the
bursary scheme are available in the information pack.
Improve International is currently in the final stages of developing a
partnership with Hartpury College, a
faculty of the University of the West of
England.
This will allow candidates to also
study for important compulsory ‘A’ and
‘B’ modules from the RCVS Certificate
in Advanced Veterinary Practice.
Further details on this scheme will be
available shortly.
Modules available will include
“Professional Key Skills”, “Equine
Practice”, “Small Animal Practice” and
“Production Animal Practice”. The
Bursary scheme is available to help in
these studies.
In summary:
- there are 12 one-year modular programmes covering key business and
clinical topics; - ESVPS examination costs are
included; - up to 26 awards are available with up
to 70% off the published course and
