Perineal urethrostomy in cats

Surgical correction is indicated for irresolvable or recurrent obstructions or permanent urethral narrowing in cats. Perineal urethrostomy is the most common procedure where the wider post-prostatic portion of the urethra is anastomosed to the skin to make a new urinary stoma.
