Steven J Butterworth

Steven “Steve” J Butterworth, MA, VetMB, CertVR, DSAO, FRCVS, qualified from the University of Cambridge in 1986. He then spent time working as both a general practitioner and lecturer in small animal orthopaedics at Bristol Veterinary School until 1995. During this time, he not only gained RCVS certificates in radiology and small animal orthopaedics and the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Orthopaedics but was also awarded RCVS recognised specialist status. Steve then opened Weighbridge Referral Centre in Swansea, and he has worked there ever since. Steve has published 30 peer-reviewed papers, co-written a textbook, contributed chapters to three BSAVA manuals, presented papers at 34 scientific meetings and been a speaker/tutor on 140 CPD courses, all of which have contributed to him maintaining his specialist status and being awarded a Diploma of Fellowship by the RCVS in 2019. Outside of work, Steve enjoys keeping fit, hill walking and attempting to play golf.
