Colopexy

This video demonstrates how to perform a colopexy. The colon is positioned against the left body wall. A partial thickness seromuscular incision is made in the colon and an incision is made in the muscle of the body wall. The colon is then sutured to the body wall using partial thickness, simple continuous sutures with monofilament absorbable material. After lavaging the intestine and suctioning the abdomen, the procedure is concluded by changing swabs, gloves, and kits, and closing the abdomen.
