Arthroplasty of the head and neck of the femur

In this video, you will learn how to perform a femoral head and neck excision. The procedure involves the use of a sagittal saw and a cranial lateral approach to the hip. The joint capsule is opened, and the femur is externally rotated. Soft tissues are elevated, and an osteotomy is performed to remove the femoral head and neck. Finally, the osteotomy site is checked, and the limb is assessed for impingement.
