Inaugural state of the Veterinary Virtual Care Industry Report launched by VVCA

Making healthcare more accessible for pets globally

The Veterinary Virtual Care Association (VVCA) has released its inaugural 2024 State of the Veterinary Virtual Care Industry Report. The free access report outlines the significant advancements in veterinary virtual care, focusing on its impact and utilisation in the UK and North America. With analysis of over 2 million data points derived from more than half a million virtual care interactions globally, this groundbreaking report highlights the key takehomes in delivering virtual care.

The VVCA, in collaboration with multiple resource partners with a variety of delivery models, compiled data from over 506,000 virtual care interactions, highlighting the power of multi-stakeholder data collaboration and providing groundbreaking insights into the trends, challenges and outcomes of virtual veterinary services. The report also highlights the impactful role of integrated virtual care in enhancing access to veterinary services, improving pet healthcare, and addressing care shortages across the regions.

Key highlights of the report:

  • Bridging the gap: the report investigates how virtual veterinary services provide critical solutions to common barriers to care, such as economic, geographic and availability issues, as highlighted by the Veterinary Care Accessibility Project (VCAP)
  • Global insights: a section devoted to showcasing how veterinary needs and practices share commonalities internationally
  • Future of veterinary practices: the report provides evidence-based insights that have the potential to enhance veterinary practices, including the strategic adoption and advancement of virtual care
  • Innovations in virtual care: innovative applications and business models emerging in virtual care that promise to supplement and enhance traditional veterinary services

It serves as an valuable resource for anyone involved in or interested in the future of pet care and delivery of veterinary services.
