Early-bird registration for BVNA Congress 2025 closes at end of the month

The 60th anniversary of the BVNA will see the congress focus on the theme of progression, with early-bird ticket sales closing on the 31 July

BVNA Congress 2025 promises to bring the veterinary nursing community together – to learn from and be inspired by each other, and to celebrate BVNA’s 60th year of representing the profession.

Taking place at Telford International Centre between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 October 2025, this year’s early bird registrations close at the end of July – meaning there are just two weeks left to gain access to a significantly discounted ticket rate.

BVNA Congress is long-established as the UK’s largest event dedicated to veterinary nurses. The event provides collaborative, practical and hands-on learning, in addition to five full-day lecture theatres across all three days. This year sees BVNA continue a theme of “Progression”, to mirror the association’s 60th anniversary year and recognise the progress made in the VN profession during this time.

Progression

Each morning includes a headline “Progression” stream. These sessions aim to inspire veterinary nurses to recognise their ability to lead and advocate for the patients and people around them, whether in a leadership role or not; to identify opportunities where RVNs could be better utilised in their own workplace; and to be aware of the vast opportunities available by being a part of the VN profession.

Speaking on the topic of progression, BVNA is honoured to be joined by keynote speaker Helen Ballantyne on Saturday 11 October. Helen is a renowned dual-qualified medical and veterinary nurse, currently working as a transplant coordinator for the NHS. She has developed a strong interest in the concept of One Health and will be sharing her learnings from both human-centred and veterinary nursing. Delegates can look forward to this inspirational session, which highlights both the progress and significant future potential of the veterinary nursing profession.

Key features in 2025

Responding to delegate and member feedback, BVNA has developed a programme to meet the needs of the ever-evolving career pathways shaped by veterinary nurses. This year’s twenty lecture streams include:

  • Dedicated streams for referral and GP nursing
  • Anaesthesia and analgesia
  • Emergency and critical care
  • Exotics, zoo and wildlife
  • One Health
  • “In conversation”
  • Species-specific behaviour considerations
  • Nursing the equine patient
  • Student
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Rehabilitation
  • Veterinary care assistants
  • Nutrition
  • Nursing the senior patient

Hands-on workshops, small group discussions, and drop-in practical learning will be on offer throughout the event too. You can view the full programme here.

BVNA Congress is also not just about learning – it provides a vital opportunity to meet other like-minded professionals, in a friendly and warm community atmosphere. BVNA’s large exhibition hall provides the perfect setting to catch up with colleagues, network with exhibitors, and rest and refresh between lectures. Plus, the unmissable social events include Musical Bingo, plus a “Swinging Sixties” themed gala dinner and awards ceremony. Fancy dress is optional but very much encouraged!

Feel inspired, empowered and supercharged as part of the veterinary nursing profession.

BVNA members receive a special rate, discounted even further by booking at the early bird offer ending on Thursday 31 July. For more information and to register, visit the BVNA website.
