3D printing is an excellent tool for prototyping and testing, but it is still not entirely common to use for manufacturing complex end products. Since its inception, the Czech company AnyoneGo has been one of the world‘s pioneers in this field. Its wheelchairs for handicapped dogs received the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award and it continues to develop innovative, 3D-printed products for pets.
“Just like suppliers of printing materials, we are aware that the plastic that 3D printers usually work with is not very friendly to nature. That is why we are constantly monitoring new trends that are emerging in the field of greener solutions for 3D printing,” explains one of the founders of AnyoneGo, Martin Schenk. “We are very pleased that this effort and continuous testing brings a concrete result, so we can supply our latest product to the market in an environmentally friendly design.”
This new product, which can be made of a fully compostable, biodegradable material, is a special adjustable bowl for food and water for pets. Same as all AnyoneGo products, it is designed in-house and manufactured by 3D printing.
The requirements for environmentally friendly and fully degradable material were met by NonOilen filament from the Czech manufacturer Fillamentum Manufacturing Czech. It is suitable for contact with food, can handle higher temperatures, and can even be washed in the dishwasher. These are all very important parameters for any tableware, even the one made for pets. Once the dish has served its purpose, the owner simply disassembles it and composts it.
“Our bowl will be the first commercial product printed from this filament to enter the European market,” adds Schenk.
However, it’s not only the material that is interesting on the new pet bowl but the whole construction, which makes it very easy to adjust its height and inclination.
“Our goal was to design a unique and extremely functional pet bowl. The product is stable, fully adjustable, easy to use, convenient for many pets and, as is customary with our products, also looks great,” says Jan Jiránek, the Chief Designer and founder of AnyoneGo.
The AnyoneGo bio-degradable bowls will be available for purchase by the end of June.
