New platform for digital vaccination certificates launched

Pet Records has launched Boop, a digital vaccination certificate platform, which is free to veterinary practices and aims to streamline client service

Boop is a digital vaccination certificate platform now live, in a UK first for the veterinary sector. The service allows vets and nurses an easy, cost-free way to improve client service, streamline workflows, and enhance animal welfare, provided by Pet Records Ltd.

Boop allows vets to quickly create secure, digital records which are instantly shared to their clients.  Boop leverages AI and computer vision to auto-populate a vaccination details, capturing important pet details including the microchip number and thereby ensuring all certificates are positively identifiable and compliant with the RCVS 10 principles of certification and electronic signing guidance.

Pet owners can securely store and access digital vaccination certificates directly on their mobile device through the Boop app, eliminating the need for outdated paper cards that are easily lost or damaged. In the app, owners can also instantly look-up chip details – up to 30 percent of which are not properly registered. Certificates are easily shared by WhatsApp or email and are well accepted by boarding and day care establishments, who welcome the efficiencies. You can search “Boop Pet” in your app store to try it.

Cofounders, Charlie Barton and Jamie Crittall, both vets, are no strangers to veterinary software solutions having previously founded iRecall automated client communications service.

Charlie says “Boop brings a vaccination record service fit for 2025, enabling vets to add more value to their vaccination service and owners to care better for their pet. By linking to the microchip, vets can be confident that every record belongs to the right pet – making care safer, more accurate, and more convenient.”

Key benefits for pet owners and vets:

  • Digital vaccination certificates – accessible anytime, anywhere, and impossible to lose or forge
  • Microchip integration – allows quick chip look-ups, improving identification accuracy and supporting compliance with microchipping laws
  • Treatment management – owners can track vaccinations and parasite control, improving preventative care and early intervention
  • Improved animal health and welfare – in-app education, information and reminders help owners stay on top of essential treatments
  • Free for veterinary practices – no subscription costs; simply register and start offering digital certificates immediately

Boop’s mobile app design empowers owners, making vaccinations more educational and improving compliance with preventative care plans. The system also helps practices cut down on administration by reducing requests for duplicate vaccine cards, while encouraging owners to check and maintain up-to-date microchip details.

Veterinary practices can register for free here, or you can scan the QR code below.

Once signed up, practices can start issuing digital vaccination certificates instantly – without changing their existing PMS or workflows.
